Glass Tile Grouting Tools
Applying grout and thinset is the first stage of most tiling projects. While you won’t need many tools, it’s crucial to have the right ones. We recommend installers start with at least one trowel, a grouting sponge, and a grouting scrubbie. These tools, combined with the right chemicals, cutters, and, of course, beautiful blends of Susan Jablon Mosaics' glass tiles, will carry you through almost any tiling project.
We’ve created a list of the most important tools for a typical tiling installation, all of which are available in our Accessories Store. Order them along with ordering your tiles to ensure you have all the tools you need to start your project as soon as your tiles arrive!

V Notch Trowel (3/16”): $9.00 - This multi-purpose trowel should be the first tool you purchase for your glass tile installation. Use the flat edge to spread thinset and grout and to remove excess materials from the surface of tiles. The notched edge will comb even ridges in thinset creating a strong bond between tiles and the installation surface.

Pie Shaped Trowel: $6.00 - A handy companion to the V-Notch trowel, the pie shaped trowel is great for spreading grout in corners and in tight detailed areas.

Grouting Sponges: $6.00 - Use a dry-damp grouting sponge for general post installation clean-up. The smooth side easily wipes surfaces clean while the coarse side gently scrubs away partially cured, stuck-on grout. Soft and resilient, these sponges are prefect for use with glass tiles. |

Grout Scrubbie: $6.00 - The only thing better than the name of this handy tool is how well it works to clean grout haze from the surface of tiles. Tough enough to be used with Acid Crystal Cleaner yet it won’t scratch the surface of Susan Jablon Mosaics' glass tiles.

Grout Boost: $50.00 (Sanded) $66.00 (Unsanded) - Grout Boost® stain resistant grout additive mixes with cement-based grout in place of water when grout is installed to provide resistance to water and oil-based grout stains. 27oz bottle for Sanded Grout and 48oz Bottle for Unsanded Grout. |
| Acryclic Grout Additive: $10.00 - Acrylic Grout Additive is an acrylic latex admixture formulated for use in place of water when grouting tile. Acrylic Grout Additive makes joints less susceptible to water penetration (especially important when grouting wet areas). It also increases grout flexibility. Aqua MIx Grout and Haze Clean Up: Aqua Mix Grout and Haze Clean up is a safe and effective concentrated cleaner that is added to the final bucket of grout cleanup water for removal of cementitious grout haze and latex additive film from tile during the clean up process. It may also be used full strength to remove light grout residue within the first 10 days after grouting. Covers approximately 300-600 sq ft depending on dilution. |

Grout Release: $8.99 - Water-based silicone solution to pre-treat your tile prior to grouting. Eases grout cleanup and reduces potential for grout staining during installation. This is a must if you are installing Frosted Beach tile, so as to protect the textured surface from the grout. |
