Susan Jablon Mosaics proudly offers the certified, sustainable product ORGANIKS, a 100% Recycled Glass Mosaic Tile. ORGANiKS is available in nearly 100 color choices, to be used as a solid color, or made into blends and patterns using the patented SJM Tile Designer tool. ORGANiKS is made entirely from pre and post consumer material.
Recycled glass mosaic tile is a mainstay green choice for countertops, backsplashes, showers, floors, pools and spas. It can be installed as easily inside as outside. It is even available to glow in the dark!
Glass tile wears well,and has water resistance, antimicrobial and antimold properties and is fire resistant. It installs anywhere and lasts for decades.
The following series of pictures tells the story of the ORGANiKS recycled glass to gorgeous tile process:
1. Damaged car windshields are sorted by hue. They are then smashed into mountains of broken glass.
2. The mountains of glass shards are pulverized into glass powder.
3. The glass powder is formed into mosaic tile shapes and through a refiring process, being remade into hundreds of colors and arrays of gorgeous glass mosaic tile.
