 Susan Jablon - "Wash Day" 2001 - Plaster, cheesecloth, vaseline, breasts

Rude and Bold Women is a womens' artist group that features the Susan Jablon piece as shown above, entitled "Wash Day". Susan molded casts of 44 different women and children for this piece, ranging in age from 2 to 94. This piece was hung from wall to wall in the YWCA, during the month long event.

 

 

Liz Coats - "Flora" - Pigments and acrylic medium on cotton canvas on plywood.

Liz Coats is an artist from Australia. She uses a medley of mediums including; acrylic pigments, wood, cloth, glass, and paint. Her square or rectangle patterns, which she creates, resemble glass tiles.

 

 

Judy Chicago - "The Dinner Party"
Judy Chicago is a feminist artist, author, and educator. She began creating work in the mid-1960's. Shown above is her most famous piece entitled "The Dinner Party". The place settings and plates in this piece feature a flower-like sculpture.

 

 

Barbara Graf is a feminist artist whose work was featured by artwomen.org. Barbara expresses that her work is based on the dissection of the human body and focuses on the body as a shell that is filled with emptiness. Lalla Essaydi.Converging Territories #10, 2003. Lalla Essaydi is a featured artist at the Brooklyn Museum Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, Feminist Art Base "Lalla Essaydi’s art, which often combines Islamic calligraphy with representations of the female body, addresses the complex reality of Arab female identity from the unique perspective of personal experience." Essaydi addresses the subject of Islamic tradition in her art work.
